Davidic Dance in Worship
Davidic dance is a joyful expression of worship inspired by the example of King David, who danced before the Lord with all his might as the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6:14). Rather than being a performance, Davidic dance is an act of praise, thanksgiving, celebration, and surrender offered to Adonai.
Throughout Scripture, dance is frequently associated with worship, victory, and rejoicing in God's presence. Miriam and the women of Israel danced after the crossing of the Red Sea (Exodus 15:20), and the Psalms call God's people to praise Him with timbrel and dance (Psalm 149:3; Psalm 150:4).

At Oseh Shalom
At Oseh Shalom Messianic Jewish Congregation Davidic dance provides an opportunity for worshippers to engage their whole being—spirit, soul, and body—in honoring ADONAI. Circle dances, Israeli folk dances, and choreographed worship movements done in an orderly fashion can all be used to express biblical truths and celebrate ADONAI's faithfulness.

ADONAI Centered
Davidic dance also reflects the unity of God's people. As worshippers move together in harmony, they visually demonstrate the fellowship and oneness described in Psalm 133:1: "Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity."
When practiced with humility and a heart focused on God, Davidic dance becomes a beautiful expression of worship that points beyond the dancers themselves to the glory, majesty, and joy of ADONAI.
